Workforce Planning Step 4 - Skills Gap Analysis

Whether you have a built-in volunteer workforce (completing job roles and typically longer term volunteers) or a bolted-on volunteer workforce (typically project or program based volunteering with a limited time span), you need to identify what skills, qualifications and experience your new undertaking requires and the skills, qualifications and experience your current volunteers have. Then run through this step, to see if you have all the skills you need. If you dont, make a decision as to whether you are investing in your volunteers (training), or whether you recruit for more volunteers—feel free to copy and adapt.
